Every Month I feature a design on Zazzle. Tesla’s Dream is my design for August.

It started off with a simple sketch of these strings of boxes you see below.

I thought the drawing was a little too boring so I took the dark boxes and digitized them allowing me the liberty to design a whole new design without having to draw them all over again. When I had the boxes side by side I got the idea of making this piece represent something mechanical, a contraption of some kind. When I think of machines, I think of electricity. When I think of electricity, I think of Nikola Tesla. Nikola Tesla in turn made me think of Einstein. One of my favorite books is Einstein’s Dreams by Alan Lightman so after my brain had a chance to settle down, I combined all of those ideas swirling in my brain and created Tesla’s Dream.
