THIS WEEK’S AMAZING ARTIST IS ANGELA BRUNO.

My name is Angela Bruno, I’m a German freelance photographer/photo artist, living and working in Germany and Italy. I studied Photography at the “IED” - Istituto Europeo di Design in Rome where I graduated in 1996. My approach to Photography has always been entirely artistic. My work contains: multiple exposures, any kind of flowers and plants, blooms and blossoms, photo-paintings (a photography that seems to be a painting), painted photos (a painting on a photo) and experiments on various topics. I love every aspect of photography therefore I don’t want to commit myself to only one single topic. My recent project is texture work.
Here are a few questions that I asked Angela to get to know her better.
What inspires you to do what you do?
Inspired by my father, who used to take photos at any occasion, I discovered my tendency to photography very early. I had my first camera at the age of ten, so taking snaps was my first hobby. I enjoyed catching a moment and conserving it for the future. I’m inspired by nature and everything that surrounds me. I even don’t have to leave the house, I also find many things in the house, from which I can make a nice Still Life.
What are your favorite tools to work with?
I use two photo cameras: my classical old reflex camera with cartridge films and my new digital one. And sometimes Photoshop.
Do you think your work reflects who you are?
Yes, I think my work reflects who I am. As you can see in my portfolio, I photograph a lot of different things with various techniques. I’m not able to focus on only one single topic or one particular style. And that’s how I am in real life: open to all, interested in everything.
